KSME to deliver LNG carrier pair to an undisclosed company in Africa

The Korean shipping and marine engineering company has not disclosed details of the buyer that has placed the newbuild orders.

HD Korea Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (KSME), a subsidiary of Hyundai Heavy Industries, said it has received a construction order from a company based in Africa for two LNG carriers. The order value is worth KRW 679,000 million ($529.84 million).

KSME will supply the two LNG carriers in Africa, with delivery scheduled for late 2027, stated the Seoul-headquartered company.

The company has not disclosed any further details of the contract, including the name of the buyer based in Africa or the LNG carrying capacity of the carriers.
