Kunlun Energy recently supplied 2,200 mt of LNG to the container ship, Zim Haifa Blue Stone, using its LNG bunker barge. However, the company did not disclose the barge’s name or other details.
The operation, conducted in Hong Kong, is expected to encourage more LNG-powered vessels to use the port’s bunkering services, the company said.
“PetroChina will accelerate the development of LNG bunkering capabilities for international ships in Hong Kong…and leverage its strong resource integration and coordination capabilities to continue providing clean, stable, and efficient LNG bunkering services to customers in Hong Kong and worldwide,” Kunlun Energy’s chairman Fu Bin stated.
Kunlun Energy is a subsidiary of Chinese oil company PetroChina.
