Louis Dreyfus completes bio-VLSFO trial on Belgium to Brazil voyage

Global commodity trader Louis Dreyfus has completed a first bio-VLSFO trial on one of its vessels.

The firm says the biofuel trial was conducted in collaboration with shipping company Wisby Tankers on its juice shipment vessel, the MV Essayra.

The MV Eassayra was said to successfully complete a 55-day roundtrip voyage from Belgium’s Ghent to Brazil’s Santos.

The commodity trader says is working on various shipping decarbonisation projects and technologies based on wind, solar and electric to cut its carbon emissions.
