The vessel, Greenergy Ocean, will be able to run on LNG or conventional marine fuels. It will transport LNG sourced by the CNOOC Group worldwide, primarily to China.

This vessel marks the inaugural launch within a long-term charter agreement encompassing six newly constructed LNG carriers for China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), signed in January 2022. All vessels are co-owned by MOL, CNOOC, and COSCO SHIPPING LNG Investment (Shanghai) – a subsidiary of Chinese shipping company COSCO.

The remaining five vessels are planned to be delivered sequentially from 2024 to 2026.
