MOL takes delivery of LNG-capable bulk carrier

Japanese shipping company Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) has taken delivery of a new LNG-capable bulk carrier, named Verde Heraldo, from Imabari Shipbuilding’s Saijo Shipyard.

The vessel will operate under long-term transport contracts to deliver raw materials to Japanese steel manufacturer JFE Steel’s mills in Japan.

After leaving the Saijo Shipyard, it will refuel with LNG through shore-to-ship bunkering at Osaka Gas’s Senboku Terminal in Osaka Prefecture, before heading to Australia.
