MSC Cruises' LNG dual-fuel newbuild starts sea trial

Geneva-headquartered MSC Cruises has commenced sea trials of its LNG dual-fuel cruise ship MSC World Asia ahead of its scheduled debut in December.

The vessel has departed the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, for its first open-water trials.

MSC Cruises has not disclosed additional details about the vessel, including its planned deployment.

In November last year, the cruise line also ordered two more LNG dual-fuel cruise ships from French shipbuilder Chantiers de l'Atlantique.
