The two cruise ships will be built by French shipbuilder Chantiers de l'Atlantique and be delivered between 2029-2030, MSC Cruises said.
They will be additional to the MSC World Asia and MSC World Atlantic that are slated for deliveries in 2026 and 2027.
These four newbuilds will expand MSC Cruises’ LNG-capable fleet from the MSC World Europaand MSC World America, which are already in operation, and bring its total LNG-capable vessel count to six.
The vessels will be able to connect to onshore power supply.
They will have dual-fuel engines, meaning that they have options to run on either LNG or oil-based fuels like VLSFO and LSMGO.
