MSC floats out fifth LNG-capable cruise ship

Swiss cruise operator MSC Cruises has launched an LNG-capable cruise ship at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.

The cruise ship, MSC World Atlantic,will be able to operate on LNG and conventional fuels.

The vessel is scheduled for delivery in 2027 and will be deployed on Eastern and Western Caribbean routes from November that year.

It is set to become the fifth LNG-capable vessel in MSC Cruises' fleet. The company took delivery of MSC World Europa in 2022, MSC Euribia in 2023 and MSC World America last year, and MSC World Asia is due to enter into operation in December.
