The vessel concepts include a 23,000 cbm ammonia bunkering vessel and a 18,000 cbm LNG bunkering vessel.

HD HMD developed the designs for both the vessels, customising the cargo systems to meet the specific properties of each fuel. KR reviewed both designs, ensuring they complied with classification rules and domestic and international regulations.

“Ammonia and LNG are rapidly gaining traction as low-carbon alternative fuels. As the number of vessels powered by these fuels increases, we anticipate a rising demand for ammonia and LNG bunkering vessels,” HD HMD’s initial design division head Dong-jin Lee says.
