The two 48,500-cbm capacity vessels can run on ethane and conventional marine fuels. Additionally, both vessels will be ammonia-ready, allowing for future retrofitting to ammonia propulsion.

The carriers will be fully capable of carrying ethane, LPG and ammonia in addition to ethylene. Jiangnan Shipyard and China Shipbuilding Trading will construct the vessels, with deliveries scheduled for March and July 2027.

The contract also includes an option for two additional ethane dual-fuel ethylene gas carriers, which, if exercised, are expected to be delivered in November 2027 and January 2028.
