Neste to supply new bio-bunker fuel to ESL Shipping vessels

Finnish refiner Neste will supply its new bio-bunker fuel to ESL Shipping’s dry bulk vessels in Finland and Sweden.

Neste claims the biofuel component of the blend can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% compared to fossil fuels.

The fuel is made with renewable raw and waste materials such as used cooking oil in the refining process at its refinery in Porvoo, Finland.

Neste announced pilot testing of the bio-bunker fuel last month with its Danish partner Nordic Marine Oil.
