The Brassavola has been under construction by Sembcorp Marine for about three years and will be owned by Japanese shipping company Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL).

MOL has been growing its fleet of LNG-fuelled ships. It is targeting 90 ships in operation by the end of the decade and has been exploring bunker options across across global ports.

Pavilion Energy will share the vessel with TotalEnergies Marine Fuels upon delivery. Both Pavilion and TotalEnergies have bunker delivery licences in Singapore.

FueLNG, a third LNG licensee in Singapore, completed the port's first ship-to-ship LNG bunker delivery in March last year.

In August last year, Pavilion said it had hit a milestone of completing 100 truck-to-ship LNG bunker operations in Singapore's Juron Port.
