NYK Line launches LNG dual-fuel vessel

Japan-based shipping company Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK Line) has launched the LNG dual-fuel LNG carrier Diamond Gas Nexus.

The vessel has been built by South Korean shipbuilder HD Hyundai Samho and is equipped with a WinGD dual-fuel engine capable of running on both LNG and conventional marine fuels.

Diamond Gas Nexus has been chartered to DGE, a Singapore-based subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation, under a long-term time-charter contract. Following delivery, the vessel is expected to primarily transport LNG for the Cameron LNG project in the US, in which both Mitsubishi Corporation and NYK are participants.
