The vessel can run on both LPG and conventional marine fuels and is also designed to carry ammonia in addition to LPG.
Built at Kawasaki Heavy Industries’ Sakaide Works in Japan, the vessel will be chartered by UAE-based energy company BGN INT.
The launch marks NYK Line’s seventh LPG dual-fuel gas carrier, following the launch of Luna Pathfinder in August last year.
The global LPG-capable fleet currently stands at 141 vessels, with 91 more expected to be delivered by 2028. Of the existing fleet, 138 are LPG carriers, while three are LPG/ammonia carriers, according to classification society DNV.
