ONE takes delivery of new ammonia/methanol-ready vessel

Singapore-headquartered shipping firm Ocean Network Express (ONE) has taken delivery of its sixth ammonia/methanol-ready vessel.

This 13,900-TEU vessel, ONE Singapore, is part of a planned fleet of 20 vessels that will eventually be converted to run on either ammonia or methanol, ONE said.

Their “-ready” status means these vessels will not be capable of running on methanol or ammonia upon delivery.

But they will be built with space and basic infrastructure to allow future installations of engines, fuel supply systems and related technologies needed to use these fuels in the future.
