Petrobras extends advance bunker sales period

Brazil’s state-owned bunker supplier Petrobras has extended bunker delivery window to allow sales up to 20 days in advance.

The change will come into effect from 13 October, replacing the current 15-day period, Petrobras said.

Bunker sales for deliveries beyond 20 days in advance will continue to be handled on consultation basis, the company added.

Petrobras is a major bunker supplier across key Brazilian ports like Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande, etc.

Earlier in July, Petrobras introduced discounts on larger bunker parcels to boost demand.

Under the scheme, volumes of up to 1,500 mt were priced at the standard rate, while quantities exceeding that amount – up to a maximum of 3,000 mt – qualified for a tiered discount.
