The 8,000-dwt vessel, Vanda Pioneer, is capable of carrying methanol and 100% biofuel (B100).
It is the first IMO Type 2 bunker vessel to join PetroChina's bunker fleet in Singapore and will strengthen the supplier's operations at the port, according to Alex Ho, general manager at PetroChina International (Singapore).
Last year, the supplier secured a five-year licence to supply methanol as a bunker fuel in Singapore from 2026.
“As the alternative marine fuels market continues to evolve, this [vessel delivery] provides valuable operational flexibility and optionality in serving the changing needs of shipowners,” Ho said.
