The ship can operate on both LNG and traditional marine fuels and will serve routes between Asia and West Africa.

The series began earlier this year with the launches of Kota Oasis in April, Kota Ocean in June, and Kota Odyssey in September. With the addition of Kota Orkid, PIL now operates eight LNG-capable vessels in total.

Alongside the four 8,200 TEU ships delivered this year, the company has also received four 14,000 TEU LNG dual-fuel vessels since 2024. PIL continues to expand its cleaner-fuel fleet, with another 12 LNG dual-fuel ships on order — five of 13,000 TEU and seven of 9,000 TEU — set for delivery in the coming years.
