The 8,200 TEU container ship, Kota Oasis, is the first in a series of four LNG dual-fuel vessels ordered from Chinese shipbuilder Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, PIL said.
The vessels will be equipped with Swiss marine power firm WinGD’s engines.
Kota Oasis is PIL’s fifth dual-fuel vessel that can run on LNG, joining the company's four 14,000 TEU LNG-capable vessels delivered since October last year.
Additionally, the company has 13 LNG dual-fuel vessels on order to be delivered over the next few years.
