The utility vessel, President 100, is operated by Singapore-based shipping firm Prestige Ocean.
The trial will run for 1,000 hours to capture emissions data and engine performance using B100.
If successful, the trial could pave the way for the company to adopt B100 across its next 50 vessels, Pinnacle Marine said in a social media post. The company has not disclosed the physical supplier of the fuel.
ENGINE-assessed B100 was priced at $1,469/mt on a VLSFO-equivalent basis in Singapore earlier this week, at a $184/mt premium over Rotterdam.
