Port Canaveral completes first simultaneous LNG bunkering of two cruise ships

Port Canaveral became the first port in North America to refuel two cruise ships with LNG simultaneously, Canaveral Port Authority said.

On Tuesday, two LNG bunker barges, Clean Canaveral and Clean Everglades, delivered LNG to Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Wish and Royal Caribbean's Utopia of the Seas in the port.

Florida-based JAX LNG, a joint venture between Pivotal LNG and Seaside LNG, supplied the fuel for the bunkering operation, according to the port authority's LinkedIn post.

Port Canaveral has been conducting LNG bunkering for cruise ships since 2021, when it became the first US cruise port capable of handling LNG operations.
