Port of Antwerp-Bruges’ LNG bunker sales surged in Q1 2024

June 6, 2024

Antwerp-Bruges’ consolidated LNG bunker sales have shot up in the first quarter of 2024 by 85% compared to the same period last year.

The port authority has reported consolidated LNG bunker sales of 13,000 mt in the first quarter of this year, marking the highest ever quarterly sales since the port made the data available in 2021.

At 13,000 mt, Antwerp-Bruges' LNG sales were around 22% higher from the previous quarter.

Despite a robust increase in the first quarter, Antwerp-Bruges’ LNG sales figure was significantly lower than Rotterdam’s data.

Rotterdam remains the biggest port for LNG bunkering. Its LNG bunker sales, which stood at 87,000 mt in January-March period this year, were nearly seven times greater than Antwerp-Bruges’.
