Port of Gothenburg to offer methanol bunkering service by end of 2023

Swedish bulk liquid storage provider Inter Terminals Sweden (ITS) has collaborated with the Port of Gothenburg to introduce methanol bunkering service in the port by the end of this year.

“Preparations are on-going to rebuild some of the tanks and the related infrastructure to enable bunkering of methanol,” ITS said in a social media post.

Port of Gothenburg’s head of business area energy, Lena Lilienberg said the storage infrastructure will also be ideal for "an even better marine fuel when e-methanol or bio-methanol is available."
