It says the shore power could curb at least 500 mt/year of carbon dioxide emissions from offshore tugboats.

Onshore shore power installation at the Port of Lake Charles in Louisiana was completed by US electric firm Entergy. It will be used by offshore tugboats operated by US logistic firm Crowley, as part of an agreement with Entergy.
The shore power would help Crowley to save fuel costs and curb emissions while their tugboats are tied up in berth, Port of Lake Charles' director of engineering and maintenance Nick Pestello says.
Several global ports are ramping up necessary onshore power installations to connect vessels with shore power.
