Rotterdam plays a crucial role in the European energy transition as it produces and imports 13% of the continent’s energy demand, the port authority says.

The three-day (20-23 March) training programme will focus on the challenges and solutions that the port faces during the phase of the energy transition.

“The port of Rotterdam works with the entire ecosystem to accelerate the energy transition and is an example of a future sustainable energy hub. The port's Energy Transition Management Programme offers a unique opportunity to use this knowledge and experience,” Nico van Dooren, Director of New Business Development & Portfolio at the Port of Rotterdam Authority, says.

The port aims to supply 4.6 million mt/year of hydrogen to Europe by 2030 through local production and imports.
