PowerCell to deliver fuel cell modules to hydrogen-powered ferries

Swedish battery maker PowerCell is in the final stages of negotiations to supply hydrogen fuel cells to two RoPax ferries to be deployed in Norway.

PowerCell will provide high-power fuel cell modules, capable of producing 6 MW of power, for two RoPax ferries.

The project is headed by Norwegian marine technology firm SEAM and includes the transport company Torghatten Nord.

The final deal is scheduled to be inked on 3 March.
