The general cargo ship, FWN Sun, was bunkered with 50 mt of a B20 biofuel blend in Port of Aveiro in Portugal, this week. The B20 biofuel blend was made up of 20% biofuel component and 80% marine diesel oil (MDO). The stem was delivered at the berth via trucks.
PRIO typically uses cooking oil and other advanced feedstocks to produce biofuel blends for shipping, PRIO Energy’s coordinator of emerging businesses and shipping Telmo Ferreira, told ENGINE last year.
The company operates a biodiesel plant and a 100,000 cbm-capacity fuel storage facility in the Port of Aveiro.
