The rebel group launched one ballistic anti-ship missile and three one-way unmanned aerial systems (UAS) towards the US Navy’s guided-missile destroyer USS Carney (DDG 64) from their base off Yemen’s coast, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported.

The Yemeni militia’s spokesperson Yahya Sare’e has claimed the attack on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

The US naval ship withstood the attack and later took down three anti-ship missiles and three unmanned surface vessels (USV) in self-defense, the US CENTCOM said.

UAS and USV are two kinds of drones that the Houthis have been using to attack commercial vessels in the Red Sea.
