Operations have been suspended since today morning, a source said.
The port area is witnessing wind gusts of up to 30 knots and waves close to two meters. Bad weather is forecast to continue until Saturday, with strong wind gusts of up to 25 knots predicted for Friday. This may cause prolonged delays for bunkering in Gibraltar.
In nearby Ceuta, six vessels are due to arrive for bunkers today, said shipping agent Jose Salama & Co. A supplier is experiencing some delays at one of the terminals, the shipping agent added.
Gibraltar has good bunker availability across all three grades, with recommended lead times of 3-5 days consistent with last week. But, these lead times may increase if adverse weather causes delays and congestion in bunkering operations.
