Russia supplied over 75 million mt of crude oil to China this year – TASS

Russia was the top oil supplier to China in the first eight months of 2023, “having outstripped Saudi Arabia,” TASS reported quoting Russian oil major Rosneft’s chief executive officer Igor Ivanovich Sechin.

Russia supplied more than 75 million mt of crude oil to China between January and August 2023, 25% higher than the same period a year ago, TASS reported citing Sechin.

"This year, more than 75 million tons (mt) of Russian oil have been supplied to China. This is by 25% more than last year," Sechin said during a Russian-Chinese energy business forum.

Russia's deputy prime minister Alexander Novak said earlier that the country's total oil exports to China grew by 28% in 2022 and reached 89 million mt.
