Sallaum Lines orders six LNG PCTC vessels

US-based shipping company Sallaum Lines has ordered six new LNG dual-fuel pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) vessels from China Merchants Shipyard.

The agreement allows Sallaum Lines to order four vessels initially, with the option to increase the order size to six.

The first delivery of the 7,400-car-equivalent unit (CEU) vessel is scheduled for 2026.

LNG-fuelled vessels will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 25% and overall GHG emissions by 63%, Sallaum Lines claims.
