The ship-to-ship (STS) LNG transfer to the LNG-capable Lake Saint Anne was conducted using Seaspan’s LNG bunker barge Seaspan Garibaldi.

Lake Saint Anne is managed by Singapore-based Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) and chartered by South Korean shipping line EUKOR.

The operation marked the port’s first-ever LNG bunkering, according to the Port of Nanaimo.

Seaspan operates three LNG bunker vessels along the West Coast of North America and has previously supplied LNG to container ships, car carriers, and bulk carriers in Vancouver.

Last month, it completed the first LNG bunkering operation for a cruise ship in the Port of Vancouver, refuelling Silversea’s Silver Nova ahead of its voyage to Alaska.
