The LBM will hold the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC), confirming it meets the sustainability criteria required under the FuelEU Maritime regulation and the IMO’s planned global net-zero framework, Seaspan said.

Seaspan has partnered with US-based trading firm Anew Climate to secure LBM supply and provide “pre-audit services” for ISCC certification.

According to Seaspan, this service will be among the first to deliver ISCC-certified LBM at scale in the region.

In June, Seaspan completed its first LNG bunkering operation in Long Beach using the LNG bunker tanker Seaspan Baker.
