SIPG will supply LNG to CMA CGM’s 15,000 TEU dual-fuel container ships at Yangshan port. It plans to use its largest LNG bunkering vessel, the 20,000 cbm- capacity Avenir Allegiance it purchased from Avenir LNG.
CMA CGM will deploy the 15,000 TEU container vessels on its line connecting China to the US port of Los Angeles.
Separately, under the agreement between Avenir LNG and Shanghai SIPG Energy Services (SSES), Avenir LNG will be responsible for the marketing of LNG supply in Shanghai and to ensure smooth LNG bunkering operations for CMA CGM’s container fleet and the future customers.
The agreement is a major milestone for expanding its operations in China, says Avenir LNG.
