Singapore conventional bunker sales slipped 3% in January
Less HSFO and MGO sales contributed to drag the port’s total bunker sales 3% lower in January than in December.

Changes in bunker sales from December to January:
- Total sales down 133,000 mt to 4.85 million mt
- VLSFO sales up 25,000 mt to 2.86 million mt
- HSFO sales down 152,000 mt to 1.66 million mt
- MGO sales down 6,000 mt to 331,000 mt
Singapore’s HSFO sales fell by 8%, while total MGO sales declined by 2%. On the other hand, VLSFO sales in the port grew by 1% on the month, according to preliminary figures from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore.
In January, 3,751 vessels bunkered in Singapore, up from 3,539 in December. However, the average stem size fell from 1,408 mt in December to 1,293 mt in January.
The port's total bunker sales in January were 11% higher compared to a year earlier in January.
