Singapore conventional bunker sales up for second consecutive month
More vessels arriving for bunkers and increased sales of VLSFO and MGO grades contributed to push the port’s total bunker sales slightly higher in October.

Changes in bunker sales from September to October:
- Total sales up 93,000 mt to 4.31 million mt
- VLSFO sales up 67,000 mt to 2.52 million mt
- HSFO sales down 22,000 mt to 1.45 million mt
- MGO sales up 48,000 mt to 334,000 mt
Singapore’s VLSFO and MGO sales grew by 3% and 17%, respectively, in October.
HSFO sales, on the other hand, dipped 1% on the month.
In October, 3,542 vessels called to bunker in the Southeast Asian bunker hub, an increase of 64 from September, according to preliminary figures from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore. The average stem size rose marginally by 5 mt to 1,216 mt in October.
Meanwhile, total bunker sales across the first eleven months of the year were 4% higher compared to the same period last year.

- 34% HSFO (32% YTD)
- 8% MGO (7% YTD)
