Singapore LNG sales soared to all time high, bio-bunker sales plunged
Singapore sold just 500 mt/day of bio-bunkers in February, a significant drop from almost 1,500 mt/day in January, according to preliminary figures from the port authority.
Monthly Singapore alternative bunker sales since January 2022

Changes in Singapore alternative fuel sales between January and February:
- Bio-VLSFO sales down from 45,000 mt to 16,000 mt
- LNG sales up from 10,000 mt to 27,000 mt
All of the 16,000 bio-blended bunkers sold in February were VLSFO blended with a bio component – typically 24% in Singapore. Total biofuel bunker sales across the first two months of this year stood at 70,000 mt, significantly higher than around 57,000 mt sold in the same period last year.
On the contrary, LNG bunker sales surged by 17,000 mt to an all-time high of 27,000 mt in February. LNG bunker sales have grown for the third consecutive month as cheaper LNG prices have triggered more oil-to-gas switching.
No methanol sales have been recorded since July last year.
