The 7,000 DWT vessel, capable of running on both ammonia and conventional marine fuels, is the fifth ship ordered from the same shipyard.
The initial four ammonia-ready vessels were ordered in October 2023. The first is set for delivery in the fourth quarter of this year, with three more due through 2026. The fifth vessel is scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2027.
Designed by Norwegian firm LMG Marin and developed with Swedish propeller specialist Berg Propulsion, the vessels are intended for short-sea shipping.
Bergen-based Skarv Shipping is a joint venture between shipping company Peak CSL Group and maritime technology firm Grieg Edge.
