Sohar Port is located in Oman near the Strait of Hormuz and overlooks the Arabian Sea. It is an important shipping route, connecting the Gulf and the Indian subcontinent to global trade networks.
Interested firms are required to submit their EoI to the port’s Procurement and Contracts Department. Upon submission, the department will then send a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) for the firms to sign before receiving the next step documents.
These documents will include an outline of the opportunity and also touch upon the technical requirements. Financial proposals are not expected at this point, the port authority clarified.
The port authority has not specified any details regarding the potential capacity of the terminal.
In February, global bunker supplier TFG Marine announced that it would begin supplying bunker fuel grades at Sohar Port.
