Terntank orders a dual-fuel methanol tanker

Swedish shipping firm Terntank has placed an additional order for a dual-fuel methanol tanker with China's Merchants Jinling Shipyard.

The 15,000-dwt vessel will also be equipped with wind sails and a hybrid battery system.

The vessel will be able to run on methanol and conventional marine fuels. It is expected to be delivered by 2027.

This latest order is part of a series of similar orders placed by Terntank. Last year, the shipping firm placed orders for three dual-fuel methanol tankers to be delivered in 2025. These tankers are designed by the Norway-based maritime transportation firm Kongsberg.
