The two methanol-ready vessels will each be equipped with four 16-metre rigid sails—also known as solid or wing sails—a wind-assisted propulsion technology designed to capture wind energy and support ship movement.
Combined with the initial order of three newbuilds placed in May 2023, this brings the total to five vessels featuring 20 rigid sails.
The first of these, Tern Vik, was delivered in April 2025 by China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Yangzhou).
Terntank, which operates in the Nordic region, specialises in transporting sustainable fuels.
