The cargo sailboat Artemis has joined its sister ship Anemos, which was delivered earlier this month.
These 80-meter-long vessels can carry over 1,100 mt of cargo and accommodate 12 passengers. Equipped with two masts (schooners) and nearly 3,000 square meters of sails, they will transport cargo at speeds of about 10 knots.
TOWT claims that these features will help reduce carbon emissions by more than 90%, compared to conventional fuel-powered ships.
In the coming days, Artemis is set to sail through the South China Sea and then the Karimata Strait.
In April, TOWT ordered six more cargo sailboats from Piriou Vietnam.
