Toyotsu Energy, a subsidiary of Toyota Tsusho, used its bunker vessel Shozan to fuel the car carrier Toyofuji Maru at Nagoya on 26 July and 3 August.
The fuel blend was made up of low sulphur heavy fuel oil and biofuel derived from waste cooking oil.
In April this year, Toyotsu Energy delivered biodiesel to fuel tugboat navigation tests running for three months. The tugs were operated by Sanyo Kaiji, an affiliate of Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK).
