Trafigura orders four ammonia dual-fuel vessels

Commodity trader Trafigura has signed a contract with HD Hyundai Mipo Dockyard for four vessels capable of using ammonia for propulsion.

All four medium gas carriers (MGCs) will be built at the HD Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in South Korea’s Ulsan. They will be capable of carrying LPG or ammonia as cargo.

The first of these carriers is slated for delivery in 2027.
