Typhoon Krathon halts bunker operations in Taiwanese ports

Bunker deliveries across Taiwanese ports of Kaohsiung, Hualien, Suao and Mailiao have been suspended this morning due to Typhoon Krathon, a source says.

Typhoon Krathon is currently located 220 km south-southwest of Kaohsiung, moving towards southwestern Taiwan. The storm's outer bands have already started impacting Pingtung and Taitung counties, as well as the city of Kaohsiung, according to Taiwan’s Central Weather Administration (CWA).

The agency predicts that the typhoon will make landfall near Kaohsiung early Wednesday afternoon.

Additionally, bunker operations at the ports of Taichung and Keelung are expected to be suspended by evening, the source adds.
