UK-based Purus Wind orders eight methanol-ready vessels from Damen

Offshore wind services provider Purus Wind has ordered eight methanol-ready vessels from the Netherlands-based Damen Shipyards to support its offshore wind farm operations.

The vessels will be powered by diesel-electric hybrid engines when they are delivered. They will also have space to retrofit methanol-fuelled engines in future.

Delivery of the new vessels is expected between 2024 and 2027.
