Vitol Bunkers completes record bunker delivery at Karachi port

Vitol Bunkers’ bunker vessel Marine Ista has carried out the largest bunkering operation ever recorded at Pakistan’s Karachi port, according to Karachi Port Trust (KPT).

The 6,800-mt-capacity vessel delivered 4,900 mt of marine fuel to MSC Apollo during a bunker-only call within the KPT area.

The operation underscores the port’s “enhanced capability to handle large vessels for bunkering and emerging as bunkering hub,” KPT noted.

No additional details have been disclosed by the company, including the grade of fuel supplied.

Earlier, in February, Vitol Bunkers expanded its physical bunkering footprint in Pakistan by introducing HSFO supply. Prior to this, it had been supplying VLSFO and LSMGO across Karachi Anchorage, Karachi Port and Port Qasim.
