Wallenius Wilhelmsen to add up to 12 LNG-capable ships

Norway-based shipping firm Wallenius Wilhelmsen is in advanced discussions with shipyards to order four LNG-capable vessels for delivery by 2030.

The discussions also include an option for eight additional vessels, with deliveries expected to begin in 2031.
Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s orderbook for LNG-capable vessels will reach 26 vessels if all options are exercised, with deliveries lined up through 2032, it said.
The shipowner has raised $300 million to support the planned order, according to a filing with the Oslo Stock Exchange.
