A CSOV (commissioning service operation vessel) is designed and build to meet the commissioning, service, maintenance and operational needs of the offshore wind industry.
Windcat has now ordered six dual-fuel hydrogen CSOVs from Damen Shipyards.
These vessels will feature CMB.Tech's dual-fuel hydrogen technology, which retrofits MAN Energy Solutions' engines with hydrogen injection systems. This will allow them to run on both hydrogen and conventional marine fuels.
All six CSOVs are under various stages of construction at Ha Long Shipyard in Vietnam, with the first slated to be delivered in early 2025.
