Yang Ming completes first SIMOPs LNG bunkering in Shanghai

Taiwanese container shipping firm Yang Ming’s vessel has been bunkered with 2,000 mt of LNG in a simultaneous ship-to-ship (STS) operation at the Port of Shanghai.

The stem was delivered to the vessel, YM Willpower, by Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG) Energy, Yang Ming said.
The bunkering was conducted through simultaneous operations (SIMOPs), allowing the vessel to receive LNG while unloading cargo. The process can typically reduce the amount of time a vessel spends in port.
